I was born and raised in Arkansas City, Kansas. My family attended the Friends Church there. While growing up, my parents were the resident managers of Camp Quaker Haven, a Christian youth camp owned by Mid-America Yearly Meeting of Friends.
I met my husband, Michael, while attending Barclay College (Friends Bible College) in Haviland, Kansas. We were married in January of 1977. Since then we have lived in Kansas, Texas and Colorado. We have attended the Friends Church in every town we have lived. I have been privileged to be surrounded by “Friends” my whole life.
Michael and I have three children. Rosanna is married to Tom Lindeman and is a stay-at-home mom with our granddaughters Kayden and Kensey, and grandson Trenton. Jessica is married to Jason Van Meter and also is a stay-at-home mom with our granddaughters, Eliana and Madison, and grandson Nehemiah. Both Rosanna and Jessica have degrees in Elementary Education. Our son, Jared, is a missionary in Tallaght, Ireland. He is a youth pastor and also works with the music at a Methodist Church in Tallaght.
I have worked as secretary of First Denver Friends Church since September 1993. I consider it a privilege to work for the great group of Christian people who attend First Denver Friends Church.
